The following is a radio ad that ran on local Atlanta radio. The ad was an endorsement of John Eaves, a candidate for the seat as Chairman of the Fulton County Commission (Fulton County encompasses most of Atlanta)

The ad was done by Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, US Congressman John Lewis (Mr. Lewis marched with Dr. Martin Luther King during the civil rights protests you know….) and Andrew Young, former ambassador to the UN.

This is about the most blatant race baiting I have ever heard. It has caused uproar in the Atlanta area, with a certain part of the demographic, but of course the liberals don’t see what all the fuss is about. Can you image what they would be saying if it was a republican that said this?

“This is Congressman John Lewis.”
“And I’m Mayor Shirley Franklin”
“And I’m Andy Young”

(John Lewis) “On November 7th we face the most dangerous situation we ever have. If you think fighting off dogs and water hoses in the sixties was bad, imagine if we sit idly by and let the right-wing Republicans take control of the Fulton County Commision.”

(Shirley Franklin) “The efforts of Martin and Coretta King, Hosea Williams, Maynard Jackson and many others will be lost. That’s why we must stand up and we must turn out the vote for the Democrats on Election Day.”

(Andy Young) “And especially for John Eaves for Fulton County Commission Chairman. Unless you want them to turn back the clock on equal rights and human rights and economic opportunity for all of us, vote for John Eaves as Fulton County Chairman”

(Lewis) “Your very life may depend on it.”

(John Eaves) “This message paid for by the committee to elect John Eaves.”

I had to do a little searching on the internet to find this audio clip. It was on John Eaves website Tuesday, however, it disappeared from the site sometime on Wednesday. I guess they weren’t all that proud of it, but his other radio ads were on there!
