Barber Motorsports Park and Museum

In July we took a few days off and took a motorcycle ride. One of the places we visited was Barber Motorsports Park and and Museum near Birmingham, Alabama. The Barber park is a fantastic facility and the Museum is just over the top! We spent about three hours roaming over its five levels enjoying all manner of motorcycles and race cars on display. We could have easily spent three more hours looking at all the displays. The collection is overwhelmingly oriented toward motorcycles. In fact, I saw examples of just about every motorcycle I have owned in the collection. Many antique as well as modern and classic motorcycles are displayed.

Soon after we walked in the door I spotted ’02 ZRX 1200 R Kawa.zrx

The Saturday we visited was a track day. From the windows at the rear of the museum we could watch the riders running hot laps on the Barber track. That was fun too! I want to go over some other day when they are having track days and watch the fun!

Do you know what this is?
Do you know this bike?

When I was a kid, I wanted one of these Mustang scooters soooo bad. This was about the coolest thing around! An there it was at the Barber Museum!

Only a few hours from Atlanta this is a great place to visit if you are into bikes, cars or racing.
If you are looking for a great motorcycle museum to visit, take a ride over to the Barber Motorsports Museum!

We too joined the author and his wife on this adventure to Barber Motorsports Museum. His description is accurate. I must admit I was not looking forward to viewing 5 floors of motorcycles, but I was sooooooo wrong. I enjoyed every floor, and found myself reading the descriptions and stories behind every motorcycle.

Plus, we had the best barbecue sandwich in a little town close to the museum.
